' Count von Bernstorff, German am bassador to the United States, has been warned by his government that a new crisis between the two coun tries is near. He has been notified that unre stricted submarine warfare is now the German policy; that it probably will lead to war, and that within six months the two countries will in all probability have discountinued di plomatic relations. This is the story, just come to light, of Karl Armgaard Graves, who calls himself the master spy, and who claimed he had been in the German secret service many year Graves, recently, was arrested on the charge of trying to sell to an at taehe of the German embassy in this city three letters purporting to be per sonal communications from a Ger man woman of high place to Countess von Bernstorff. These three letters were turned over to the secret service of the Unitd States, and are now in their possession. Graves claimed that the- letters were not stolen but that 'they came to him direct from Berlin, though they were written for other eyes. He alleged that they were in a cipher and that in the guise of unimportant personal communications they con cealed a message of the greatest in ternational significance. The sub stance of this message, as Graves Famous Automobile Manufacturer Talks About What He Thinks War and Other Things. Desire for profit, commercial greed, are the direct causes for the great war, where the people are being ex ploited for the benefit of the inter ests, as they have been here before the election of Woodrow Wilson one of the most important events that ever took place on this earth, and to prevent what I believe not less than $75,000,000 was spent." Asked, how long he thought the war would last, he said. GOV. CRAIG'SPROCLAUATION ' QitAPS OF" INTEREST Calls on People cf the State to Ob serve Next Thursday as Day cf Thanks.
